It is the right time for Audi to present its first ever S model that is
empowered by the 308 horses. Yes, the new SQ5 TDI shows that the company has
already accept the challenge from BMW to present sporty models with diesel
powered.
The new SQ5 TDI is developed based on the Q5 model series and is empowered by
a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 diesel. The diesel is able to deliver a
generous 308 horses or around 313 PS of power and 650 Nm or equal to 4679 lb- ft
of peak torque that is reached between 1,450 and 2,800 rpm.
It is claimed that the new Audi SQ5 TDI can sprint from standstill to a
hundred kilos per hour or 62 mph in just 5.1 seconds sprint time, while reaching
a top speed of 250 km/h or 155 mph. the average fuel economy is returned of 7.2
lt/100 km (32.7 US mpg or 39.2 UK mpg).
The buyers can opt for a choice of eight speed tiptronic transmission or the
Quattro permanent all wheel drive system that is completed with torque vectoring
working to distribute the power.
The body of the SQ5 is now lowered by 30 mm or 1.18 inch over the previous
model, thanks to the returned electromechanical power steering and a tuned
sports suspension.
The new car brings some goodies into the cabing such as power-adjustable
sport seats in Pearl Nappa leather/Alcantara, brushed aluminum inlays, gray
instrument dials with white needles, and S-spec steering wheel, gear lever knob
and decorative trim.
Additionally, the company has also fitted its new sporty car with a new
styling kit that covers a platinum gray single-frame grille with an
aluminum-look trim for the bars, the roof spoiler, window surrounds, mirrors and
modified bumpers.
The SQ5 TDI that rides on 20-inch alloy wheels shod with 255/45 tires will
have arrived in the Audi’s European dealerships by the first quarter of next
year. For you who are interested just be ready with at least €58,500 or around
US$73,600. Unfortunately, it is still not clear yet, whether the company will
bring the model to the States or not.
