After Toyota was hit with the natural disasters as well as melting reactors,

helping to boost efficiency at highway speeds.
As for the engine designs it looks as if Toyota will revamp its current 2.7 L
in-line four cylinder with its direct injection and variable-valve-timing head
to produce closer to 190 hp and 200 foot-pounds torque. As for the six-cylinder,
we will likely see a downsize to a 3.5 L the will also utilize new head design
therefore placing horsepower around 260 and 260 lb-ft of torque. We will likely
see a six-speed automatic transmission as well as a manual and a boost in
efficiency. The Toyota Tacoma 2014 should get the base two-wheel-drive
four-cylinder closer to 30 miles per gallon while the six-cylinder would get
closer to 26 miles per gallon.
Toyota has been caught snooping around with Ford Motor Company and if the two
have been working together sharing technologies then there’s always the
possibility of seeing a Turbo make its way into the engine lineup which would be
incredibly awesome. The problem is that it would likely make it on a 2014 Toyota
Tacoma but more likely the Tundra. Either way it should likely see both Tacoma
and Tundra getting in efficiency boost and a more aerodynamic body. As for the
Toyota Tacoma TRD editions I hope to see a Turbo making its way into the engine
bay. With TRD’s strong name I hope they run wild with accessories although I
hope we can buy them at affordable prices. But to have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma Baja
utilize heavy-duty Fox shocks as well as a more powerful engine would make a
mini-raptor that would certainly find itself in my driveway. Until 2013, Toyota
will more than likely be very secretive over its Tacoma and Tundra so look for
news to be scarce.
