What NASCAR should be

NASCAR is completely dominating American auto sports and may make it hard for Formula One to appeal to the masses such as NASCAR. NASCAR even has the roots of old moonshiners running from the law and with performance-based cars and start racing each other in what would become a multibillion-dollar industry. The problem with NASCAR is the fact that there’s nothing stock about the cars and it costs a bloody fortune in order to get your team on the track. Each car has panels that have to be built by hand as well as complex chassis and roll cages. Plus with all the rules and regulations we see that all the cars are morphed into pretty much one car design. Now with the introduction of fuel injection we will see even closer racing that will lead to wrecks. So in order to keep competition lively between not only drivers but also auto manufacturers, I say that we take NASCAR back to the basics.

I think that for a NASCAR to be available to drive on the track, it needs to be a production car purchased off of a dealerships lot. Then you simply replace the driver seat with a racing seat and harnesses and then weld a roll cage in the vehicle and place a fuel cell in the back and that my friends is it. The entire remaining interior has to stay as well as everything else except for the driver’s airbag. Now let’s say the car has to come from the auto manufacturers performance lineup that there the Dodge and Chrysler SRT lineup and the Cadillac V-series. We would have the tires have to be the same ones that are delivered on the car and there can be no additions searches aerodynamic spoilers or anything else. Plus you could put a price cap that would inflate at the similar pace of cars and auto industry.

As a result we would see auto manufacturers producing some very impressive vehicles that would offer incredible aerodynamics as well as powerful powertrains and handling. Plus with each manufacturer being able to power the cars the way they want to would lead to some impressive numbers. This would also make it more affordable for more racers to get involved in the sport. Even have a massive qualifying round that could eliminate the drivers that aren’t fast enough. I’ve given this thought for some time now and as a result I want to start my own NASCAR racing series.
